BleakHouse Publishing is a small, independent press devoted to creative
writing in the service of social justice. Our goal is to publish works that
shed a humane light on the nether world of penal institutions, as well as
other repressive settings, practices and beliefs. Existential
themes—such as suffering and loss, atonement and redemption—are
central to works published by BleakHouse. Poetry, prose, novels, plays, and short stories dealing with social
justice are welcome and will be carefully reviewed. We hope to publish one
new book each year
